Submitted by esdcanada on Tue, 2009-11-03 16:09The following is the final report to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment in fulfillment of the terms dated October 2, 2007, and amended January 27,
2009, for the project entitled “United Nations Regional Centre of Expertise Saskatchewan: Building New Partner Opportunities and Capacity for Regional Sustainability” between Luther College, Regina and the Province of Saskatchewan.
National Council
The ESD Canada National Council is made up of representatives from provincial and territorial Education for Sustainable Development Working Groups, Ministry of Education representatives for jurisdictions that do not yet have Working Groups, as well as national and international organizations.
About Yukon Territories WG
This province has not yet established a Provincial Working Group. The intent of this initiative is to establish ESD Working Groups in all provinces and territories in Canada. Representatives of each of these ESDWGs will sit on the National ESD Expert Council.
About Northwest Territories WG
This province has not yet established a Provincial Working Group. The intent of this initiative is to establish ESD Working Groups in all provinces and territories in Canada. Representatives of each of these ESDWGs will sit on ESD Canada.
About Nunavut WG
Vision
All stakeholders in Nunavut have a role in determining the goals, priorities and objectives for education for sustainable development (ESD) in Nunavut. Nunavut Education for Sustainable Development will help create a sustainable future for Nunavummiut. ESD will be built into the activities of the formal, non-formal and informal education sectors in Nunavut.
About Newfoundland and Labrador WG
With assistance from the Newfoundland Labrador Department of Education and Department of Environment and Conservation, the province is in the process of establishing a provincial ESD Working Group.
About Nova Scotia WG

NSEN is a provincial, non-partisan umbrella organization. The NSEN will not take a political stand or endorse a politcal party. However, member groups and issue specific caucuses of the NSEN, such as the Environmental Education Caucus or Climate Change Caucus, may choose to take a political stand on specific issues.
